Great personality test site -- worth visiting

After posting about the "Typealyzer," I found a site that is much better. Really outstanding. It's called Signal Patterns and is now in beta. Since I am a psychologist by training, I know a lot about personality tests. There are a very few good ones. On the 'net, there are even fewer. However, this site has tests that are based on solid, valid and reliable research. I definitely endorse it. BTW, the charts are very, very cool!

(Note: that was 2008 - it is now 2014. Since I wrote the above post, this company has made some changes. I'm hearing a bit of worrisome feedback from readers, so will go back, take a look, then - if warranted - revise this post... all the while reminding myself that it's progress, not perfection, that counts.)

A new toy for belly-button gazers

(...Not that there's anything wrong with that). Check this out: The Typealizer, a site that analyzes your blog using the Meyers-Briggs (MBTI) personality instrument, then 'tells' what 'type' you are based on its content. This is how I, as the author of this blog, was thus described:

INTP - The Thinkers

The logical and analytical type. They are especialy attuned to difficult creative and intellectual challenges and always look for something more complex to dig into. They are great at finding subtle connections between things and imagine far-reaching implications.

They enjoy working with complex things using a lot of concepts and imaginative models of reality. Since they are not very good at seeing and understanding the needs of other people, they might come across as arrogant, impatient and insensitive to people that need some time to understand what they are talking about.

Geez. This makes me sound awfully serious.....

"So out you're in. "

I've coined a phrase! Out of my own personal experience, too. Whether anyone else likes it or uses it is not important. I like it and that is its own reward.

Goals are important

All the research shows that goals are important, and that writing them down increases the chances that one will attain them. Thus, I share with you one of mine:

To consistently eat dinner before midnight.

I believe I can do this. I just know I will.

Cheers et bon appétit.
